Emergency Shelter and Housing

Support for survivors in need of emergency sheltering and housing

We understand how urgent and overwhelming it can feel when violence leaves you with no safe place to stay.

Emergency Shelter

MCVP provides short term emergency shelter services for people experiencing domestic or sexual violence who are in imminent danger. These services are designed for individuals and families whose immediate safety is compromised by violence and who need a protected, confidential location to stay safe.

Because we are a crisis program, our shelter services are not a long term housing solution and cannot substitute for the specialized care some situations require. Some circumstances call for supports or environments that we are not equipped to provide. When that happens, our advocates work with callers to identify community partners, resources, and next steps that best match their needs.

Housing Support

Housing is often affected by domestic and sexual violence. Some survivors lose housing as a direct result of abuse, while others face safety concerns, financial barriers, or coercive control that make it difficult to secure a stable place to live. In a community where safe and affordable housing can be hard to find, these challenges can feel overwhelming.

MCVP does not provide housing, but we offer housing focused advocacy to support survivors whose housing has been impacted by violence. Our advocates help people understand their options, address barriers related to safety, and connect with community partners who can assist with longer term housing needs.

Our role is to help survivors navigate complex systems, plan for safety, and identify resources that may support their path toward stability. We are honest about what we can offer within the limits of a small crisis center, and we work to ensure that each person is met with care, respect, and practical guidance.

If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
